Co-founder of the Campaign to End Loneliness and former Chief Executive of Independent Age, Janet Morrison has been awarded an OBE in the New Year’s honours list, alongside our management group member Paul Cann.

Kate Shurety, Executive Director of the Campaign to End Loneliness, said:

“We’re delighted that Janet Morrison Is being recognised for her work to reduce loneliness amongst older people. As a founder of the Campaign to End Loneliness and our chair until 2018 she was fundamental in making the issue of loneliness a policy priority across the UK.”

“Paul Cann was instrumental in establishing the Campaign to End Loneliness and is still a member of our management group, helping us focus on reducing loneliness in later life.”

“Loneliness has a devastating impact on people of all ages but especially those in later life for whom it can be constant and more difficult to overcome.”
