We’re delighted to announce we’ve been awarded £100,000 of funding from DCMS (Department of Culture, Media and Sport). The funding is administered through Big Lottery Fund and will help us look at the role of resilience and relationships in tackling loneliness.

Laura Alcock-Ferguson, Executive Director of the Campaign to End Loneliness, said:

“We are delighted to have been awarded funding to improve knowledge about the role of resilience and relationships in tackling loneliness. There is evidence to show how ‘activities’ help address loneliness –  but research is limited about how to maintain, or develop, effective personal resilience and relationships. This project will form a vital part of innovative solutions to loneliness. Our aim is to drive a step-change in supporting people to flourish during times of change which can be triggers for loneliness. We thank the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and the Big Lottery Fund for supporting our vision and look forward to working with many other organisations in developing this work and sharing the results.”
