Join 150+ other people throughout the UK who are working to address loneliness in older age to discuss brand new research and good practice, and learn how to better identify and measure loneliness. The conference is a nationwide meeting that is designed to celebrate the work of our Learning Network, as well as be an opportunity for members to rejuvenate and reconnect with what else is going on across the UK.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear expert keynotes and to participate in interactive workshops. Agenda highlights include:

A Keynote Presentation from Professor Vanessa Burholt, Professor of Gerontology in the College of Human and Health Sciences, Swansea University

An Interactive table-discussion session on “Promising approaches to reducing loneliness and isolation in Wales” with presentations from Let’s End Going Home Alone, Community Transport Association Wales, Men’s Sheds Cymru, Spice Innovations and Gwanwyn Festival

Plus Workshops on:

  • “Promising approaches to addressing loneliness in Europe”
  • “Measuring the impact of services on loneliness”
  • “Identifying older people experiencing, or at risk of, loneliness”
  • “Addressing loneliness in rural areas”
  • “Using technology to reduce loneliness”
